About The Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, creative and caring.

The primary purpose of the role is to provide psychological diagnosis, assessment and treatment for patients with cancer and their family and significant others presenting with a wide range of psychological issues. These may include depression, anxiety, specific phobias, adjustment disorders, cognitive and behavioural problems, and grief and loss. This position will participate in research and education and may be expected to supervise post-graduate Psychology Interns.

Clients will be seen individually and may be seen in groups.

Ideal Candidate

- Clinical Doctorate/Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology and current registration as a Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), with endorsement as a Clinical Psychologist or currently undertaking a Board approved registrar program for the purpose of gaining such endorsement.
- Experience in providing appropriate and evidence based psychological treatments for patients with cancer and ability to provide patient management advice.
