Senior Azure Migration Consultant

Contract Opportunity

Our client, a fast-growing technology consultancy, is looking for a Senior Azure Migration Consultant to design and deliver a greenfield Azure Landing Zone and lead the migration and consolidation of multiple Azure tenants into a modern, secure and well-governed cloud platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and implement an enterprise-scale Azure Landing Zone aligned with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework.
- Assess existing Azure tenants, subscriptions, workloads, dependencies and governance arrangements.
- Develop migration strategies, wave plans, runbooks and cutover approaches.
- Lead Azure tenant-to-tenant, subscription and workload migrations.
- Deliver workload migrations using rehost, replatform and modernisation patterns.
- Design governance across Management Groups, subscriptions, Azure Policy and RBAC.
- Establish secure Azure networking using hub-and-spoke architecture, Azure Firewall or NVA, DNS, Private Endpoints, ExpressRoute and VPN.
- Implement infrastructure using Bicep and/or Terraform with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Establish monitoring and observability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics and diagnostic settings.
- Design backup and disaster recovery solutions using Azure Backup and Azure Site Recovery.
- Support Entra ID and Microsoft 365 integration, including RBAC, workload identities and managed identities.




- Facilitate design workshops and engage with ARB, CAB and other governance forums.
- Manage migration risks, dependencies, issues and stakeholder communications throughout delivery.

Essential Experience

- Proven delivery of enterprise-scale Azure Landing Zones.
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and Well-Architected Framework.
- Demonstrated experience delivering Azure tenant-to-tenant, subscription and workload migrations.
- Robust Azure governance experience across Management Groups, subscriptions, Azure Policy and RBAC.
- Advanced knowledge of Azure networking and hybrid connectivity.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Migrate, Azure Site Recovery and Azure Database Migration Service.
- Experience migrating and modernising Azure IaaS and PaaS workloads, including Azure VMs, Azure SQL, App Services, Storage and Azure Files.

You are an experienced Azure consultant who combines strong architecture capability with hands-on migration delivery. You can establish a well-governed Azure platform while also getting into the detail of workload discovery, migration sequencing, dependencies, runbooks and cutover planning.
