CNC Plasma Programmer

Transbeam is seeking an experienced CNC Plasma Programmer to join our Steel Processing team in Forrestfield. This role is responsible for programming and optimising CNC plasma cutting processes to support both internal production and external customer requirements.

You will work across a range of metal materials, using Primecut software and CAD/CAM software were applicable to design and program cutting paths for a Kinetic K5200 CNC plasma cutting machine, ensuring efficient, accurate, and cost-effective production outcomes.

About the Role

As the CNC Plasma Programmer, your key responsibilities will include:

- Day-to-day programming and nesting for production and external customer orders using Primecut software and CAD/CAM software were applicable
- Programming complex CNC plasma processes including bevels, drilling, countersink, tapping, counterbore, and Studwelding
- Liaising with the internal sales team to understand customer specifications and requirements
- Communicating with customers when required to clarify needs and provide technical solutions
- Collaborating with engineers, designers, and production team members to support project delivery
- Working closely with machine operators to ensure smooth, efficient production
- Adhering to company policies, procedures, and safety requirements
- Actively participating in workplace health and safety initiatives, toolboxes, and training
- Reporting hazards, incidents, or safety concerns promptly
- Undertaking additional tasks as required to support operational and business objectives





About You You are a detail-oriented and technically capable CNC professional who thrives in a manufacturing workplace and enjoys collaborating across teams.

Essential

- Proven experience programming CNC plasma cutting machines
- CNC programming experience involving complex processes (bevels, drilling, countersink, counterbore)
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Current Australian driver’s licence

Desirable

- CNC machine operating experience
- Experience with Kinetic K5200 plasma machines
- Experience using Primecut software
- Relevant trade or technical qualifications
