NRG Gladstone Operating Services (NRGGOS) is currently seeking to appoint a fuel handler for hosing and dozing operation for a 6-month contract to join the Fuel Handling Workgroup. This position will be a day operator role.
The successful applicant will take on the additional responsibility of the operation and cleaning of fixed and mobile plant to supply coal and fuel oil at the agreed blend, and in sufficient quantities to maintain required boiler operation of the Gladstone Power Station. Successful applicants will be provided with further on the job training to support their position.
Role requirement will include
- Hold a current driver’s license
- Be able to operate or learn operation of mobile equipment (Dozer, Front-end loader & Bobcat)
- Basic computer literacy
- Ability to work in confined spaces, below ground, at heights and in a noisy environment
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs
- Ability to problem solve
- Ability to work independently or in small teams
Experience in the following area’s would be an advantage:
- Be able to operate mobile equipment (Dozer, Front-end loader & Bobcat)
- Operate a computer-based control system
- Experience with unloading trains
- Experience with operation of fixed machinery
The successful applicants will be paid according to the recognised Fuel Handlers competency profile. Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Successful completion of a drug and alcohol test and pre-employment medical.
