Ready to take your commercial landscaping experience to the next level?
This is an opportunity to join an established mid-tier commercial landscaping company delivering a diverse range of projects across South East Queensland.
Working closely with the Managing Directors, you'll take a key role across estimating, tendering and project delivery, with approximately 80% of your time focused on estimating and pre-construction and 20% on project management and delivery.
For an experienced commercial landscaper, supervisor or leading hand looking to step away from being permanently on the tools, this could also be an opportunity to use your practical knowledge in a more commercially focused, predominantly office-based role.
The Role
You'll be involved from the initial assessment of a tender opportunity through to pricing, submission, handover and ongoing commercial management.
Your responsibilities will include
- Reviewing incoming tender opportunities and assessing suitability
- Managing the tender process from initial assessment through to submission
- Completing accurate take-offs and measurements from plans
- Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for review and approval
- Reviewing plans, specifications and tender documentation
- Liaising with builders, clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors
- Preparing project budgets and site tracking documentation
- Obtaining supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Procuring key materials and subcontracted works
- Preparing and managing project variations
- Assisting with monthly progress claims
- Supporting the handover of successful tenders to site supervisors
- Monitoring project costs against tendered allowances
- Building relationships with existing and prospective clients, suppliers and subcontractors
What's On Offer?
- $130k - $150k + super
- Company vehicle
- Predominantly office-based position
- Northern Gold Coast location
- Established mid-tier commercial landscaping business
- Diverse commercial landscape projects across South East Queensland
- Work directly with the Managing Directors
- Genuine responsibility and autonomy
- Long-term career development and progression
Requirements
About You
Ideally, you'll already have experience in commercial landscaping, whether that's been gained through estimating, project management, supervision or senior site-based roles.
More important than having followed one particular career path is having a strong understanding of how commercial landscape projects are priced and delivered.
You'll ideally bring
- Strong commercial landscaping knowledge
- Estimating and/or project management experience highly regarded
- The ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and tender documentation
- An understanding of labour, materials, subcontractors and project costs
- Robust numerical skills and attention to detail
- Confident communication and negotiation skills
- The ability to build relationships with builders, clients, suppliers and subcontractors
- Good organisation and the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines
- Competence with Microsoft Office and relevant estimating/project software
