Community Development Officer

Tenure: Full time / Temporary Contract (9 months)

Location: Echuca

Remuneration: $80,211.56 to 92,509.76 pa + superannuation & leave loading

Join our Community Development Team as a Community Development Officer and work alongside local communities to deliver place-based initiatives that build capacity, strengthen connections, and improve outcomes across Campaspe. You’ll support a coordinated, Council-wide approach to designing, delivering and evaluating programs that respond to local needs.

About the Role The Community Development Officer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Engage with communities across Campaspe through regular in office presence to strengthen relationships.
- Provide information, referrals, and support on Council services and opportunities.
- Build and maintain partnerships with community groups, agencies, and organisations.
- Advocate for community needs and support Council-led advocacy initiatives.
- Support community and stakeholder engagement in line with the IAP2 model.
- Assist community organisations with guidance and support.
- Deliver community engagement activities, projects, and place-based planning initiatives.
- Coordinate and promote training opportunities tailored to community needs.
- Support delivery and reporting of externally funded programs in line with requirements.





About You To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Tertiary Qualifications in Community Development, Social Services, Health, Education, or related discipline, and/or relevant experience.
- Proven experience in planning, delivering, and facilitating initiatives that respond to identified community priorities and opportunities.
- Proven experience in the community sector including knowledge of development theory and practice.
- A valid Driver’s Licence.
- A satisfactory National Police Check.
- A valid Victorian Employee Working with Children Check.
