Are you a Senior Software Engineer looking to work on complex, high-impact software used by thousands of customers?

We are partnering with a leading technology organisation within the financial services sector to find an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a collaborative product engineering team.

n

This is a hands-on role where you'll work across the full software development lifecycle, contributing to the development and evolution of a market-leading platform. You'll be working on a mix of new features, product enhancements and existing systems, solving complex technical problems across multiple products and APIs.

The Role

n

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will:

n

n
- Design, develop and maintain high-quality, scalable and resilient software
n
- Work primarily across Python and C++ backend technologies, with some frontend development using React
n
- Contribute across multiple interconnected products and APIs
n
- Take ownership of work from initial design through to deployment and production support
n
- Build quality into the development process through automated testing and strong engineering practices
n
- Contribute to application architecture, clean code and scalable technical solutions
n
- Work closely with product, requirements, support and other engineering teams
n
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues
n




- Improve engineering processes by identifying opportunities for automation and reducing manual effort
n
- Mentor and support less-experienced engineers within the team
n
- Contribute to a highly collaborative, knowledge-sharing engineering culture
n

What We're Looking For

n

We're looking for an experienced engineer with:

n

n
- Strong commercial experience in Python and/or C++
n
- A willingness and ability to work across both languages
n
- Experience with React or other modern frontend technologies
n
- Experience building and integrating APIs and complex software applications
n
- A robust understanding of automated testing and software quality practices
n
- Experience with CI/CD, source control and modern engineering practices
n
- Knowledge of software architecture, clean code principles and designing systems for scale
n
- Experience working in Agile environments
n
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate ambiguity
n
- A collaborative approach, with a willingness to mentor others and share knowledge
n

Experience within financial services, fintech or other complex product environments would be beneficial, but is not essential.

n
