Job Description
About Us
n
Dôme is an iconic Western Australian hospitality brand, operating community-centred cafés designed to be places of welcome and comfort for everyone who walks through our doors.
n
We operate 55 cafés across WA, including 23 company-owned sites, as well as two boutique regional hotels with wine bars.
n
Across our owned operations we employ around 600 people, supported by a small Café Support Centre (CSC) team of just 16. Our People Team works closely with Operations and values structure, good systems, compliance and, importantly, practical hospitality experience.
n
Many of our CSC team members have progressed from frontline café leadership roles, bringing deep operational knowledge and long tenure to the business.
n
This role is currently based at Dôme Midland, with our Café Support Centre relocating to Maylands later in 2026.
n
About the Role
n
Reporting to and working closely alongside the Human Resources Manager, you'll be part of a small People Team supporting our company-owned cafés and hotels.
n
This is a broad, hands-on generalist role for someone who enjoys getting things done. You'll manage recruitment for café and hotel management roles, support managers through day-to-day employee relations matters, manage workers' compensation claims, contribute to HR projects and help ensure the systems, records and processes behind the HR function run well.
n
You'll have plenty of autonomy, but you'll also work closely with an experienced team and with Operations, Payroll, Training and other functions across the business.
n
No two days are particularly alike, so you'll need to be comfortable moving between interviewing a prospective café manager, coaching a manager through a performance issue, reviewing a workers' compensation claim and getting an employment letter or HR process out the door.
n
Responsibilities
n
Your role will include:
n
n
- Coaching and supporting managers through HR processes including performance management, disciplinary matters and grievance investigations, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and legislative requirements
n
- Managing recruitment and interviewing for café and hotel management positions
n
- Managing workers' compensation claims end-to-end, including new and existing claims, liaison with insurers, brokers, medical providers, Payroll and managers, claims reviews and compliant record keeping
n
- Creating, reviewing and maintaining HR policies and procedures
n
- Contributing to the ongoing development and improvement of HR systems, projects and programs
n
- Working cross-functionally and collaboratively with other teams including Operations, Training and Payroll
n
- Assisting Payroll with employment and HR-related queries
n
- Maintaining accurate HR documentation and records
n
- General HR administration and the inevitable ad-hoc tasks that come with working in a small, hands-on team
n
n
About You
n
We're looking for someone who is practical, organised and comfortable working in a fast-moving operational setting.
n
You'll ideally bring:
n
n
- Experience in a generalist HR, recruitment or HR advisory role
n
- A genuine interest in hospitality and the service industry
n
- Sound working knowledge of modern awards, the Fair Work framework and contemporary HR practices
n
- Strong organisation skills and excellent attention to detail
n
- Confidence handling sensitive and confidential information
n
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
n
- The confidence to coach managers, have difficult conversations when required and influence both peers and more senior people within the organisation
n
- Practical judgement and a willingness to find solutions rather than simply identify problems
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and move comfortably between advisory and administrative work
n
- Experience in hospitality, retail or another multi-site operational environment will be highly regarded
n
- A qualification in Human Resources or a related field will also be highly regarded
n
n
Most importantly, you'll be someone who enjoys being part of a small team, is happy to take ownership of their work and understands that good HR needs to work in the real world, not just on paper.
n
What We Offer
n
n
- The opportunity to work with one of Western Australia's best-known and most established hospitality brands
n
- A broad HR role with genuine exposure across recruitment, employee relations, workers' compensation, compliance and HR projects
n
- The opportunity to work directly alongside an experienced Human Resources Manager and closely with senior operational leaders
n
- A close-knit Café Support Centre team with a strong workplace culture — social, hardworking and genuinely passionate about the brands we work within
n
- Phone and laptop provided
n
- Parking available and good access to public transport at both our current and future locations
n
- Daily discounts to fuel your caffeine addiction
n
n
This is an office-based role and is not a hybrid/WFH position . We work smart-casual and you'll often need to visit our metro cafes and occasionally regional venues, so a current driver's licence is essential.
