About ReelChess
ReelChess builds thinkers, one move at a time. We run chess programs in schools across Western Sydney, weekend training, tournaments, and a growing online academy, all backed by a content engine with over 10 million organic views. This role puts you inside both sides of it: the programs and the content.
The role
You'll be on the ground where ReelChess actually happens. At school lessons, weekend classes and tournaments, you'll help sessions run smoothly and capture the moments that make our brand: kids cracking a puzzle, tournament wins, trophy presentations, a full room locked into the board. What you capture becomes the content our audience sees.
You'll work directly with the founder, see how a fast growing education business runs from the inside, and shape how it shows up to the world. If you can edit, there's extra paid work turning your captures into reels and posts. If you can't yet, this is exactly the place to learn.
What you'll do
Help run lesson days on the ground: setup, materials, keeping sessions flowing with the coach. Capture photo and video across our programs, following our shot guide and building an eye for the moments that perform. Send content through same-day for publishing.
Support tournaments and special events, our biggest content days of the term. Optionally, edit and package your footage into short form content for extra pay.
What we're looking for
Reliable above all, since programs run on a fixed schedule and the best moments only happen once. Warm and confident around primary-aged kids. A good eye with a phone camera, since instincts beat gear.
Based in or near Western Sydney with the ability to get to program locations, car a big plus. A valid NSW Working With Children Check for paid work before your first session (quick to get, we verify it and we'll point you to the application). No chess knowledge required and no marketing degree either.
Students, aspiring creators and career changers all welcome.
What you'll gain
Your work published on a brand with genuine reach. Direct mentorship from a founder who built 10M+ views of organic content. A explicit growth path, since our best people move up into content creation, coaching or program roles as we expand. Real experience across events, education and media that reads well on any resume.
Pay and setup
Paid role with the rate agreed based on experience. Typically weekday afternoons plus occasional weekends for classes and tournaments. Extra paid work available for editing skills. Start immediately.
