About the role
As a Contract Administrator, you will play an important role in supporting the commercial and contractual management of MCS Civil's projects. Working closely with the Project Manager, Project Engineers, subcontractors, suppliers and client representatives, you will assist with the administration of contracts and subcontract packages throughout project lifecycles.
You will have exposure to procurement, subcontract management, variations, claims, cost reporting and commercial risk, working as part of an experienced project team to support successful project outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Assist with the administration and management of head contracts and subcontract packages
- Support procurement, tendering and subcontractor engagement
- Prepare, review and manage subcontractor documentation
- Assist with the assessment and management of variations, claims and extensions of time
- Monitor subcontractor compliance with contractual requirements
- Manage contractual correspondence, notices and registers
- Assist with progress claims, payment schedules and commercial reporting
- Support project cost tracking, forecasting and financial reporting
- Identify and communicate commercial and contractual risks
- Maintain accurate contract records and project documentation
About you
- 3+ years' experience in contract administration within civil construction, infrastructure, engineering or related industries
- Experience managing subcontractor packages, commercial documentation and contract deliverables
- Strong understanding of variations, claims, extensions of time and contract administration
- Experience supporting procurement,
pricing reviews and subcontractor negotiations
- Strong commercial awareness, analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to interpret contracts, scopes, specifications and project documentation
- Understanding of Australian construction contracts, standards and WHS requirements
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers
- Excellent organisation and time management, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with experience using project or ERP systems
