About the role

This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is confident working independently in a busy cafe environment, loves breakfast-style food and is happy to jump in wherever needed to support the team. We are seeking to find someone to join us for the longterm and become a part of the Groupheads and Grind family.

Key responsibilities

- Preparing and cooking breakfast-style menu
- Food preparation and daily kitchen production
- Preparing and producing FOH cold display items
- Maintaining a clean, organised and effective kitchen
- Assisting FOH during staff breaks, busy periods and when additional support is required
- Providing friendly and professional customer service
- Operating POS and handling cash
- Working as part of a team to ensure smooth day-to-day cafe operations

About you

- Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar cafe/cooking role
- Strong experience and confidence with a breakfast-style menu
- Excellent food preparation and production skills




- Experience with catering - sandwich and wrap platters, fruit platters, large order catering, business to business style catering
- Good customer service skills and a positive attitude
- Cash handling and POS experience
- The ability to work confidently in a fast-paced environment
- A reliable and flexible approach to work
- A willingness to assist FOH and support the wider team when required
- Barista experience is a bonus, but not a dealbreaker if you have none
- Must be willing to engage with our clients and customers - we have a very close bond with many of customers
- Bubbly and cheerful personality that fits in with our current well-established team
