We are seeking a motivated and proactive Senior Housekeeping Supervisor to join our team on a full time contract.

This is a live-in position, and the successful applicant will be required to reside on the mountain. With potential to move into a management role from October.

n

The Buller Housekeeping Team maintain a number of accommodation houses, and private apartments, as well as general public cleaning of all venues, staff accommodation houses, offices and buildings utilised by Buller Ski Lifts.

About the Role

n

This is a hands-on and highly versatile position that varies significantly between peak winter season and quieter summer periods.

n

n
- Winter (Peak Season): Rapid-paced environment, supporting a large team and high guest turnover
n
- Summer (Off-Peak): Smaller team, more independent work, with a focus on deep cleaning, maintenance, and operational preparation
n

n

You will need to be adaptable, organised, and confident supporting both team leadership and operational delivery across changing seasonal demands.

n

Key Responsibilities

n

n
- Supervise a team of up to 40 staff during winter, and a smaller team (approx. 3 - 4 staff) during off-peak periods
n
- Conduct recruitment, interviewing, onboarding, and training of team members
n
- Provide day-to-day guidance, coaching, and feedback to team members
n
- Visit public areas and apartments across the mountain to inspect work and ensure it meets required standards
n
- Promote clear communication and a positive team environment
n

Operations & Coordination

n

n
- Prepare and oversee staff rosters




n
- Monitor stock control, ordering, and inventory processes
n
- Coordinate seasonal shutdown and reopening cleans of staff accommodations
n
- Communicate with Hotel Manager, Apartments Coordinator & Front office Manager to support smooth day-to-day operations
n
- Report maintenance issues and ensure compliance with operational standards
n
- Perform general housekeeping and public area cleaning, including:n n
- Vacuuming, mopping, and deep cleaning
n
- Bed making and linen changes
n
- Cleaning bathrooms, kitchens, and shared spaces
n

n
- Inspect rooms and public areas prior to guest arrival
n
- Maintain cleanliness across guest accommodation, staff housing, offices, and resort facilities
n
- Follow safe handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment
n
- Undertake physically demanding tasks as required
n

We're looking for people with:

n

n
- Prior cleaning and/or housekeeping experience – preferred
n
- Full drivers licence with full rights in Australia
n
- Customer service experience, preferably in a hotel or related field - preferred
n
- Ability to learn quickly and work in fast paced position with guest interaction - required
n
- Ability to lift,



pull, and push moderate to heavy amount of weight - required
n
- Able to stand for long periods of time in excess of 4 hours without sitting - required
n
- Able to reach, balance, crouch, stoop and bend frequently throughout the day – required
n
- Honest, trustworthy and reliable - required
n
- Flexibility to work early and/or late shifts is essential - required
n
- Must live on Mountain during winter and summer
n
- Must be willing to be on call
n
