The City of Salisbury is seeking a motivated and skilled Painting and Maintenance Handyperson to join the Building Maintenance team within City Infrastructure.
n
Reporting to the Coordinator Building Maintenance, you will contribute to the effective maintenance, repair and presentation of Council buildings, facilities and community assets. Working as part of a cooperative team, you will undertake a range of painting, maintenance and repair activities to ensure Council assets remain protected, functional and well-maintained for our community.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
n
n
- Undertake internal and external painting of Council buildings and infrastructure.
n
- Complete general building maintenance and repair activities.
n
- Inspect assets, identify defects and undertake remedial works.
n
- Perform graffiti removal, pressure cleaning and surface preparation activities.
n
- Operate plant, equipment and tools safely and effectively.
n
- Assist with maintenance of furniture, structures and community facilities.
n
- Undertake minor plastering, patching, gyprock repairs and associated works.
n
- Raise and report asset defects identified during maintenance activities.
n
- Liaise with contractors and stakeholders as required.
n
- Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and maintenance activities.
n
- Contribute to a safe, cooperative and customer-focused team environment.
n

About You
n
You are a reliable and safety-focused tradesperson who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship. You enjoy working outdoors and across a variety of maintenance activities, and you contribute positively to a team environment. With strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, you are committed to maintaining Council assets to a high standard.
n
You Will Also Have
n
n
- Trade qualification in Painting and Decorating or a related trade.
n
- Demonstrated experience in painting, maintenance and repair works.
n
- Experience using a range of hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment.
n
- Strong understanding of safe work practices and workplace safety requirements.
n
- Ability to identify maintenance issues and implement practical solutions.
n
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
n
- Good time management and organisational skills.
n
- Ability to use technology to receive, manage and complete work tasks.
n
- Current Class C Driver's Licence.
n
- EWP, Work Zone Traffic Management, Working at Heights or Confined Space qualifications will be highly regarded.
n
- Experience working within local government or a similar maintenance environment will be highly regarded.
n
