The Role

n

This role is responsible for providing expert guidance, leadership, and oversight of health and safety systems to ensure a safe working environment, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement in safety performance across operations. The role supports and drives a proactive safety culture across site operations. Reporting directly to the General Manager – Operations this role can be based in Adelaide, with site travel, or based in Whyalla.

Key Responsibilities

- Support senior management and executives with meeting statutory regulations
n
- Maintain and improve the safety management system (SMS)
n
- Coordinate statutory reporting requirements

- Radiation safety and controls
n
- Ensure compliance with WHS Act and regulations
n
- Implement and verify critical controls and risk mitigation strategies
n
- Maintain risk registers and support continuous improvement
n
- Provide leadership in risk assessments and risk management systems
n
- Lead investigations into incidents and high-potential events
n
- Ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met
n
- Conduct audits, inspections and verify corrective actions
n
- Deliver safety training, inductions and competency support
n
- Support site emergency preparedness, drills and response capabilities
n

Person Requirements

n

n
- Relevant qualification in Work Health and Safety or related discipline
n
- First Aid certified
n
- 7-10 years' experience within mining minimum
n
- Strong knowledge of WHS Act
n
- Radiation Safety Officer experience
n
- Experience in uranium in-situ recovery operations
n
- Experience with Donesafe safety management system
n
- Radiation Safety experience
