Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Application Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support business applications used within a manufacturing and engineering environment.
n
This is a hands-on development role for someone who can take ownership of applications throughout the full development lifecycle—from understanding business requirements and designing solutions through development, testing, deployment, and production support.
n
The ideal candidate brings strong C#/.NET and SQL Server experience along with the ability to troubleshoot production applications, improve existing systems, and work directly with both technical and business stakeholders.
n
Responsibilities:
n
Application Development:
n
n
- Design, develop, test, and deploy business applications using C#/.NET technologies.
n
- Develop and enhance applications utilizing ASP.NET MVC and/or .NET Core.
n
- Work extensively with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL, including database design, queries, indexing, and application data requirements.
n
- Support and maintain applications hosted within IIS environments.
n
- Develop new functionality and resolve bugs within existing business applications.
n
- Refactor and modernize existing applications to improve performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
n
n
Software Delivery & Production Support:
n
n
- Own assigned development work through requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and post-release support.
n
- Troubleshoot production application issues using logs, system information, and other diagnostic tools.
n
- Perform root cause analysis and implement solutions that prevent recurring application issues.
n
- Participate in application releases, change management, and deployment activities.
n
- Maintain appropriate testing, documentation, release notes, and rollback procedures.
n
n
Development Practices:
n
n
- Work with Git-based source control and modern software development workflows.
n
- Participate in code reviews and maintain robust standards around code quality, security, and documentation.
n
- Develop and maintain unit and integration testing.
n
- Contribute to CI/CD, deployment automation, and environment management initiatives.
n
- Apply secure coding practices related to authentication, authorization, input validation, and application security.
n
n
Application Modernization & Integration:
n
n
- Support modernization of legacy applications and internal business tools.
n
- Assist with application integrations, APIs, and service-based architectures.
n
- Participate in technical design discussions and solution reviews.
n
- Evaluate development approaches based on scalability, performance, security, and long-term maintainability.
n
- Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development, or a related field with 3+ years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree with approximately 2–4 years of relevant experience.
n
- Strong professional development experience with C# and .NET.
n
- Experience with ASP.NET MVC and/or .NET Core.
n
- Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL.
n
- Working knowledge of IIS and web application deployment.
n
- Experience with Git/source control and modern development workflows.
n
- Understanding of unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and software quality practices.
n
- Ability to troubleshoot and support applications in a production environment.
n
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
n
- Ability to translate business needs into effective software solutions.
n
- Experience supporting applications within manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or distribution environments is preferred.
n
- Exposure to APIs, system integrations, legacy application modernization, CI/CD, or DevOps practices is a plus.
