Diploma Qualified Team Leader (Responsible Person) – Watson Early Childhood and Care - Full Time Ongoing
Community Services #1 is seeking a Diploma Qualified Team Leader who can also act as the Responsible Person for Watson Early Education and Care Centre. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys leading by example on the floor while keeping daily operations safe, calm and well organised.
About the role:
As a Diploma Qualified Team Leader, you’ll build strong connections with children, families, colleagues, and the community to support children’s development in a safe and engaging environment that encourages learning, play, and social interaction.
Key responsibilities include
- Lead and be accountable for the day-to-day room operations and provide direction and mentoring for team members on running program activities, supervising, and interacting with children and applying their daily care routines.
- Plan, document and maintain records of observation for individual children for program planning and assessment of each child's short- and long-term development needs.
- Create and maintain a safe, inclusive and engaging environment, ensuring active supervision, child wellbeing, and compliance with child protection, health and safety requirements.

About you:
- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent), with experience in centre-based care.
- Confident to be rostered as the Responsible Person and make sound operational decisions when required.
- Strong knowledge of child safe practice, supervision and compliance in an ECEC workplace.

Requirements:
Current driver’s licence and ability to obtain/maintain required pre-employment checks and certifications (including National Police Check, Working with Vulnerable Cards and First Aid), plus mandatory training as required.
