Marland Mushrooms is looking for a hands-on, solution focused Assistant Operations Manager to join our team and help keep our operation running at its best.

This is a key leadership role for someone who can lead people, support the team and keep operations moving — with the confidence to step up and cover the Operations Manager as required.

Key responsibilities

- Work closely with the Operations Manager and wider leadership team
n
- Lead, our operational teams, alongside the Operations Manager, to achieve daily operational goals
n
- Drive a positive, productive and accountable workplace culture
n
- Support day-to-day operations, ensuring quality, safety and efficiency remain front of mind
n
- Assist with planning, problem-solving and continuous improvement
n
- Monitor performance and help teams stay on track
n
- Step into the Operations Manager role as required, providing confident leadership and decision-making
n

About you

- Experience in a similar role with strong people management and leadership skills
n
- A hands-on, practical approach to operations
n
- The ability to coach, motivate and support a diverse team
n
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
n
- Strong organisation and problem-solving ability
n




- Confidence making decisions and taking ownership
n
- The ability to remain calm and effective in an workplace that changes at speed
n
- Previous experience in operations, production, manufacturing, agriculture or a similar environment is highly regarded
