Pharmacy Technician

7300 Pharmacy
n
Schedule:
n
Varied Shift. (First, Second, Third) 32 hours weekly. generally 8 hour shifts Sunday - Saturday. Weekend and Holiday Coverage.

About the Position
n
The Pharmacy Technician supports the efficient functioning of the pharmacy. They assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications accurately and safely.
n
Overview of Responsibilities
n
n
- Assists pharmacists in providing care to patients in a safe manner.
n
- Maintains a secure and orderly work environment.
n
- Answers and routes phone calls.
n
- Answers the window.
n
- Communicates with fellow staff members by various means (verbal, phone, Voalte, etc.).
n
- Uses pneumatic tube system.
n
- Uses Epic for several functions, such as processing med messages and dispense tracking.
n
- Uses several Omnicell technologies, such as automated dispensing cabinets (Omnicell/AWS), carousel (CPM), and vault (CSM).
n
- Uses Rx Verify for restocking emergency kits and trays.
n
- Uses Simplifi to document completion of tasks.
n
- Supports cleanroom processes, such as utilizing the pass-through boxes.
n
- Handles controlled substances appropriately.
n
- Processes returns and expirations.
n
- Services Connersville locations.
n
- Performs and documents floor stock inspections.
n
- Works with Materials Coordinator to stock medications received.
n
- Documents prior to admission medications in Epic.
n
- Compounds and repackages non-sterile medications per USP standards.
n
- Uses Epic's Compounding and Repackaging module for non-sterile medications.
n

Education & Experience
n
n
- Minimum education required: High school diploma, or equivalent.
n
- Minimum experience preferred: Previous pharmacy experience.
n
n
Licensure & Certification
n
n
- Pharmacy Technician Certification Board license (PTCB) must be obtained within 5 years of accepting position.
n
- Ability to obtain Indiana Pharmacy Technician license.
