About the role

Underdale Drillers oz is seeking a Driller's Assistant to join our team on a casual basis. This is a hands-on position based in Lonsdale, SA 5160, where you will work alongside experienced drillers to support drilling operations and contribute to the successful completion of projects. This role is essential to our daily operations, ensuring that drilling activities run smoothly and safely whilst maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.

What you'll be doing

- Assisting experienced drillers with the setup, operation and maintenance of drilling equipment
- Preparing drilling sites and ensuring work areas are organised, safe and compliant with health and safety regulations
- Loading, unloading and transporting drilling materials, equipment and tools to and from job sites
- Helping to position and align drilling machinery and attachments as directed by senior drillers
- Cleaning and maintaining drilling equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Following all safety protocols and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
- Assisting with measuring, marking and recording drilling depths and progress
- Supporting the driller with groundwork and site preparation tasks
- Responding promptly to instructions and adapting to changing site conditions and project requirements

What we're looking for

- Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour, including lifting heavy items and working in various weather conditions
- A willingness to learn drilling operations and associated techniques
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to health and safety standards
- Reliable and punctual with a positive attitude towards work




- Ability to follow instructions carefully and work as part of a team
- Basic understanding of hand tools and machinery is advantageous
- Valid driver's licence is preferred, as travel to different job sites may be required
- Previous experience as a labourer or in a similar trade is beneficial but not essential for the right candidate
- Willingness to undertake relevant training and obtain necessary certifications as required
