About The Company Transport for NSW is the lead agency of the NSW Transport cluster. Our role is to lead the development of a safe, efficient, integrated transport system that keeps people and goods moving, connects communities and shapes the future of our cities, centres and regions, across all modes of transport.

About The Role Work as part of a team delivering innovative drone operations that support incident response, major events, maritime activities, infrastructure inspections and critical transport operations across NSW.

This role will see you operating advanced RPAS platforms and payloads in both field-based and remote environments. You will contribute to the delivery of Australian-first autonomous drone capabilities, support BVLOS Drone-in-a-Box operations from the Remote Operations Centre and help shape the future of drone services across Sydney and regional NSW.

This role is a temporary opportunity up to 2 years, joining the Drone Operations Team in Leichhardt, Sydney. This is an in-person, on-site role.





About You Your commercial RPAS experience, aviation safety mindset and strong communication skills will see you thrive in this dynamic operational environment. You bring at least two years' commercial drone experience, a solid understanding of aviation regulations and RPAS legislation, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.

Essential Requirements

- Sub-25kg Remote Pilot Licence (RePL)
- Aeronautical Radio Operator's Certificate (AROC)
- Current Australian driver's licence
- Willingness to travel regularly and work outside standard business hours

Desirable
- Experience with BVLOS (Beyond Visual Line of Sight) and EVLOS (Extended Line of Sight) operations
- IREX (Instrument Rating Examination) certification or CASA BVLOS OCTA
