The Early Childhood Cook and Educator role
- Play a dual role at the heart of the Jabiru Child Care Centre, coordinating the food safety program and helping provide a stimulating, safe and happy learning workplace for children in our care.
- Prepare nutritious meals for large groups, catering to allergies, food intolerances and cultural preferences, while managing menu planning, budgeting, ordering and record keeping.
- Maintain a clean, hygienic kitchen in line with food safety regulations,
and provide relief supervision of children as needed, supporting a warm, engaging space where children can thrive.
- This role is ideal for someone who loves cooking for a purpose and wants a genuinely hands-on, community-focused position in the Top End.
About you
- A proven ability to prepare nutritious meals, with excellent time management and communication skills.
- A National Quality Framework-recognised Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent (or actively working towards one).
- A Working with Children Check (Ochre Card), and a Food Safety certificate.
- A warm, caring approach to working with children and families, a strong appreciation of Indigenous culture, and a genuine enthusiasm for living and working in a remote community.
Exceptional benefits
- Total remuneration package from $72,762 – $80,291 depending on qualifications (including salary from $63,815 to $70,419), plus 12% superannuation and 17.5% leave loading.
