Club Central Hurstville is looking for a passionate and reliable Casual Cook to join our Back of House team. This is a great opportunity for a hands‑on cook who enjoys variety and working in a busy hospitality environment across both our Events and Bistro operations. From preparing meals for bistro service to helping deliver high-quality food for functions and events, you'll play an important role in ensuring our guests enjoy a great dining experience.
About The Role
Reporting to the Head Chef, you'll work as part of our BOH kitchen brigade to deliver high-quality, consistent food across our Events and Bistro operations.
This is a hands‑on role where you'll be involved in food preparation, cooking and maintaining a clean, safe and efficient kitchen environment.
Your Key Responsibilities Will Include
- Preparing and cooking food to a consistently high standard across our Events and Bistro operations
- Completing food preparation and cooking duties as required Working efficiently within your allocated section and supporting the wider BOH kitchen team
- Assisting with the preparation and delivery of functions, events and bistro service Following recipes, food safety standards, kitchen procedures and company requirements
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Ensuring kitchen equipment is used correctly,
maintained and cleaned appropriately
- Working collaboratively with the Head Chef and wider BOH team
- Supporting the delivery of an exceptional guest experience through quality food and service
- Contributing to a positive, cooperative and productive kitchen workplace
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about food, takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a team.
You’ll Ideally Have
- Previous experience working as a Cook or in a similar commercial kitchen environment
- Commercial Cookery qualifications and/or relevant industry experience
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic
- The ability to work effectively as part of a busy kitchen brigade
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to food quality and consistency
- An understanding of food safety and workplace health and safety requirements
- The flexibility to work across both events and bistro service
- A willingness to support your BOH colleagues and contribute to a positive workplace culture
- Professional presentation and a commitment to high standards
