We are a WA-based communications company. We specialise in underground mining communications systems, leaky feeder infrastructure, and specialised radio communications equipment.
We are looking for a qualified electrician from a domestic or commercial background who wants to move into mining. You do not need underground or mining experience. You need a solid grounding in electrical work and a genuine interest in learning a new field.
This is not a standard electrical role.
We will train you from the ground up in underground communications systems. This includes leaky feeder installations, radio systems, fibre, fault finding, commissioning, and mine communications auditing. We will also support you through the site inductions and underground competencies you need. Over time, you will grow into a lead communications technician, running projects and managing site works on your own.
The role includes regular FIFO work and site travel across WA. If you have not worked FIFO before, we will talk you through what to expect, and what to expect from the roster and lifestyle. This is not a standard roster of 8/6 or 2/2, but is flexible according to the client requirements. This means there is the opportunity for weekends and evenings at home as well as time away.
This role would suit a domestic or commercial electrician who wants a genuine career change, wants to build site knowledge and mining experience from scratch, wants real career progression, and likes working as part of a small, supportive team.

Benefits of working for ARE
