Our client is looking for an experienced Electrical Tradesperson to join their power generation operations team in Alice Springs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified electrical professional to work on critical power generation infrastructure, supporting the reliable delivery of electricity across the Northern Territory. The role involves preventative and corrective maintenance, fault finding, commissioning activities and emergency response on complex electrical and generation systems.

Working within a highly skilled maintenance team, you will be responsible for maintaining gas and diesel generation equipment while ensuring the highest standards of safety, reliability and operational performance.

Duties & Responsibilities

- Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Performing reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.
- Diagnosing and resolving faults on complex electrical equipment and generation assets.
- Investigating critical plant incidents and completing technical reports and condition assessments.
- Supporting commissioning activities alongside engineering and maintenance teams.
- Maintaining gas and diesel reciprocating engines, gas turbines and associated power generation equipment.
- Updating maintenance records and accurately recording work completed within the maintenance management system.
- Coordinating contractors on site, including permit management and supervision.
- Working within safe systems of work and permit-to-work procedures.
- Participating in an on-call roster and travelling to other sites as required.

What You Need to Succeed

- NT Unrestricted Electrical Mechanic Licence (or ability to obtain),



or equivalent technical experience within the power generation industry.
- Demonstrated ability to perform fault-finding on complex electrical systems and work within Permit to Work systems.
- Solid understanding of isolation procedures, permit-to-work systems and workplace safety requirements.
- Experience interpreting technical drawings, documentation and procedures.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining close collaboration with operational teams.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Sound computer literacy skills.
- A current driver's licence or the ability to obtain an NT Driver Licence.
- The ability to obtain an NT Type B Gasfitter Licence.

Highly Desirable

- Experience within power generation, utilities, mining, oil and gas, or other heavy industrial environments.
- Experience working on gas, diesel or solar generation systems.
- High Risk Licences including Forklift, Working at Heights, EWP or Confined Space Entry.
- Current Senior First Aid certification.
- Hazardous Area Electrical Installation, Inspection and Maintenance certification.

Benefits & Culture Salary of $107,796 to $128,390 per annum + Super + allowances (Consolidated Disability Allowance $6,104pa) | salary increment level will be based on knowledge and experience

This is a live in position based in Alice Springs and NOT a FIFO role
