Engagement Coordinator

We are seeking a full-time Engagement Coordinator to support the delivery of Heart of Australia's community engagement activities and ongoing health provider relationships across rural and remote Australia.

The Role

As an integral member of the Stakeholder and Community Engagement team, you will help build positive relationships with healthcare providers, community organisations and local stakeholders to support awareness of Heart of Australia's services and improve access to specialist healthcare.

This role is ideal for someone looking to develop a career in stakeholder and/or community engagement or relationship management. You will work closely with experienced team members to coordinate engagement activities, maintain stakeholder relationships, organise and deliver events and consultations, and assist with communications and reporting.

The role includes travel to rural and remote communities across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

- Support the implementation of community and stakeholder engagement plans.
- Assist in developing and maintaining positive relationships with primary healthcare providers, Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs),



and their community organisations that will support program delivery.
- Promote Heart of Australia services and provide information to healthcare providers and community stakeholders.
- Coordinate stakeholder meetings, community visits, information sessions and engagement activities.
- Assist with consultation and co-design activities by recording feedback and supporting engagement with local communities and health services.
- Assist in preparing reports, presentations, correspondence and communication materials.
- Coordinate logistics for community engagement activities and events.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure stakeholder feedback is shared and acted upon.
- Monitor enquiries and respond appropriately or escalate where required.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships and engagement processes.

About you You enjoy working with people and building positive relationships. You are organised, curious and eager to learn, with a genuine interest in improving health outcomes for rural and remote communities.

You communicate confidently with people from diverse backgrounds, are culturally respectful, and enjoy working both independently and as part of a supportive team.

Essential Skills and Experience

- Experience in community engagement, relationship/client management, stakeholder support, administration, health promotion or a similar role.




- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to build positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Well-developed organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Strong written communication skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while taking initiative in day-to-day tasks.
- Demonstrated commitment to respectful and culturally secure engagement.
- Current Australian driver's licence and willingness to travel to rural and remote communities.
- Working within healthcare organisations or community services is desirable, as is an understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures and an interest in culturally responsive engagement, as well as knowledge of rural and remote health issues.
