Action Steel is a growing, family-owned Australian business specialising in the design, manufacture and installation of agricultural steel buildings.

We are looking for an experienced Master Scheduler to join our Operations team and take ownership of the end-to-end project schedule, from Sales Order acceptance through to manufacturing, delivery and final site erection.

n

This is a key role that brings together Sales, Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Logistics, Project Management and Installation to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and on time.

About the Role

n

As Master Scheduler, you will own and maintain our Master Production Schedule (MPS), ensuring the entire business is working from one explicit and achievable plan.

n

Your key responsibilities will include:

n

- Developing and managing the end-to-end Master Production Schedule.
n
- Coordinating projects from Sales Order acceptance through to erection completion.
n
- Scheduling manufacturing across multiple production departments.
n
- Balancing labour, equipment and production capacity.
n
- Coordinating design, drafting and procurement milestones with production requirements.
n
- Monitoring project progress, identifying risks and implementing recovery plans.
n
- Coordinating logistics, deliveries and site erection schedules.
n
- Identifying bottlenecks and capacity constraints before they impact customers.
n
- Providing clear visibility of project status, priorities and upcoming workload.
n
- Developing improved planning, scheduling and reporting processes.
n

About You

n

We're looking for someone who is highly organised, analytical and proactive, with the ability to see the big picture while managing the detail.

n

You will ideally have:

n

n
- Proven experience in production planning, master scheduling, project scheduling or operations planning.
n
- Experience in a manufacturing or project-based environment.
n
- Strong understanding of production planning, capacity and resource scheduling.
n
- Experience with ERP, MRP or project management systems.
n
- Advanced Excel skills.
n
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
n
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and make decisions under pressure.
n

Experience in structural steel, metal fabrication, construction products or agricultural manufacturing will be highly regarded.
