As a Policy Officer working in the LLS Policy Cabinet and Regulatory Reform team, you will support Local Land Services’ policy, regulatory and legislative work across natural resource management, land management, biodiversity and sustainable agriculture. You will help develop practical policy positions, respond to emerging issues and provide high-quality advice that supports sound decision-making. Working with colleagues across LLS, DPIRD and partner agencies, you will contribute to reform work, coordinate responses to priority matters and build trusted relationships in a collaborative, high-profile policy environment.

About the role:

- Prepare briefs, correspondence, reports and policy advice for senior leaders, Ministers and partner agencies.
- Support policy development and reform work, including consultation, regulatory reform, Cabinet and whole-of-government responses.
- Research and analyse complex issues across biodiversity, land management, native vegetation and sustainable agriculture, identifying risks,



opportunities and practical options.
- Build strong relationships across government and with stakeholders to inform policy and support implementation.
- Manage competing priorities and deliver quality outcomes in a short-timeframe, fast-paced role.

About You Our ideal candidate brings strong judgement, clear writing and analysis skills and the ability to work confidently on complex issues in a quick-paced environment.

- Ability to assess options and provide sound policy advice on complex issues.
- Knowledge of, or the ability to build knowledge of, biodiversity, land management, native vegetation and sustainable agriculture policy relevant to LLS and regional NSW.
- Strong writing skills, with the ability to prepare concise briefs, correspondence and reports in plain English for different audiences.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across government, industry and community settings.
- Good organisation, initiative and adaptability, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
