About the role

As an Equine Veterinary Nurse at Willinga Park Veterinary Hospital, you will work closely with Equine Veterinarians and the wider team to assist with all aspects of equine veterinary care. Based at Willinga Park on the NSW South Coast, this position offers broad clinical exposure across internal medicine and intensive care, surgery, sports medicine, advanced equine anaesthesia, diagnostic imaging and advanced breeding services. You will utilise your varied experience and skills to assist and guide the care of Willinga Park and client horses, working within a collaborative team approach.

Key responsibilities

- Monitor and treat inpatients and outpatients
- Undergo dedicated training in advanced equine general anaesthesia
- Undergo dedicated training in surgical assistance
- Assist with setting up supplies and equipment for procedures
- Assist with diagnostic imaging acquisition (MRI, digital x-ray, ultrasound, endoscopy)
- Assist with lameness examinations (trotting, lunging, aseptic preparation of the skin)
- Administer medication under the supervision of the attending Veterinarian




- Perform sample collection and laboratory testing
- Maintain accurate medical records using EzyVet and VetRadar software
- Participate in the after-hours rotating roster to provide on-call coverage for emergency cases

About you

- Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing or Bachelor's degree in Veterinary Technology
- Experience in Equine Veterinary Practice
- Demonstrated history of working alongside a veterinarian to provide care and treatment to horses
- Solid communication, organisation and teamwork skills
- Genuine commitment to animal welfare and exceptional client care
- Strong work ethics and team values
- Ability to work professionally and maintain confidentiality with sensitive client information
