About the role

We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join the team at Elz Collision Centre in Prestons, NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our operations, providing accurate damage assessments and repair quotations for our clients. As an Estimator, you will be at the forefront of customer interactions, responsible for evaluating vehicle damage, determining repair costs, and ensuring our clients receive competitive and transparent quotes.

Your expertise will directly impact customer satisfaction, operational efficiency and the financial performance of our collision repair centre.

Key responsibilities

- Conduct thorough visual and physical inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of repairs required
- Prepare detailed and accurate repair estimates using industry-standard estimating software and tools
- Communicate effectively with customers, explaining damage assessments and repair options in explicit, professional terms
- Liaise with repair technicians and management to ensure estimates align with actual repair capabilities and timelines
- Review insurance claim requirements and ensure estimates comply with insurer guidelines and specifications
- Photograph and document vehicle damage for records, insurance claims and quality assurance purposes
- Manage estimate revisions and additional damage discovered during the repair process
- Maintain accurate records and manage the estimate database to support administrative and financial reporting
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, insurance companies and other industry stakeholders
- Experience with iBody and Audanet

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a vehicle estimator or in a similar role within the automotive collision repair industry
- Comprehensive knowledge of vehicle construction, damage assessment techniques and repair procedures across various makes and models
- Proficiency with estimating software platforms commonly used in the automotive repair industry
- Strong understanding of insurance claim procedures,



policy requirements and third-party claim processes
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical information to non-technical clients
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing estimates and documentation
- Ability to manage multiple estimates and prioritise workload efficiently
- Valid driver's licence and ability to operate vehicles safely for test drives and positioning
- Professional appearance and demeanour representing our brand with clients
- Preferred: Knowledge of latest vehicle technologies, hybrid and electric vehicle components, and paint-matching systems
