About the Role

As the Evaluation and Impact Specialist, you will play a key role in strengthening HOPE's ability to understand, demonstrate and maximise the impact of its programs and services.

Working across the organisation, you'll lead evaluation and impact activities, develop evidence-based approaches to measuring outcomes, and turn complex data into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making, service improvement, funding opportunities and organisational learning.

You'll champion a culture of evaluation, accountability and continuous improvement, working collaboratively with service leaders and internal and external stakeholders to ensure evidence is used to strengthen the way HOPE delivers services and creates positive social impact.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of HOPE's Impact Framework, evaluation tools and methodologies.
- Plan and deliver evaluations across HOPE's programs and services using appropriate quantitative and qualitative approaches.
- Analyse data and translate findings into explicit insights, reports and recommendations that support decision-making, service improvement and funding opportunities.
- Build a culture of evidence-informed practice, evaluation and continuous improvement across the organisation.
- Partner with service leaders and internal teams to apply evaluation findings and strengthen program design and outcomes.
- Provide evidence of impact to support grants, tenders, contract reporting,



communications and stakeholder engagement.
- Build evaluation capability by providing advice, tools and support to managers and staff.
- Develop relationships with research organisations, government, universities and sector partners to support collaboration, benchmarking and innovation.
- Represent HOPE in relevant evaluation, research and impact measurement networks and forums. Occasional travel may be required.

About You You are an experienced evaluation and research professional with a passion for using evidence to create meaningful social impact. You bring strong analytical and communication skills, enjoy working collaboratively across diverse teams, and can translate complex information into practical insights that drive better outcomes.

Essential

- Significant demonstrated experience using a range of evaluation and/or research methodologies.
- Significant demonstrated experience using evaluation data to analyse and report on impacts, outcomes and programs.
- Demonstrated experience building research or evaluation capability.
- A good understanding of contemporary research and approaches relating to family and domestic violence, alcohol and other drugs, and mental health.
- Experience working within diverse groups and contributing meaningfully to change.
- Experience in program evaluation within the not-for-profit sector and/or government.




- Demonstrated experience facilitating discussions and workshops to support services in clarifying program logic, theories of change and outcomes, and generating evaluative insights.

Desirable

- Tertiary qualifications in social or behavioural sciences, evaluation, health sciences or another relevant discipline.
- Experience working in a culturally appropriate manner.

Pre-Employment Requirements

- Current National Police Clearance (within three months).
- Current C or A Class Driver's Licence.
- Department of Justice Clearance.
- Current Working with Children Check.
