Event Designer | Interior & Graphic Design

Dot Dot Dash is looking for an experienced Event Designer with solid Interior and Graphic Design expertise to join our Melbourne studio.

This is a genuinely hybrid design role. We’re looking for someone who can think about an experience as a whole- from the layout, form, materials and finishes of an environment through to the branding, typography, signage and graphic details that bring it to life.

You’ll have a strong, contemporary design aesthetic, excellent 3D visualisation skills and the ability to take a creative idea from initial concept through to a beautifully resolved, technically achievable event or activation.

Our work spans events, brand activations, retail installations, custom environments and experiential campaigns for leading brands across fashion, beauty, retail, lifestyle, sport and culture.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

- Conceptualising and designing events, activations and branded environments
- Developing interior layouts, event environments and custom design elements
- Creating high-quality 3D renders and visualisations
- Designing event branding, graphics, signage and environmental applications
- Preparing CAD drawings, artwork and documentation for production
- Developing client-facing design presentations and concept decks
- Selecting and specifying materials, finishes, furniture and design details
- Working closely with our creative and production teams, fabricators and suppliers to ensure designs are beautiful, practical and achievable
- Taking projects from initial concept through to installation and delivery
- Managing multiple creative projects and deadlines simultaneously

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

First and foremost, you need to have a great eye.

We’re looking for someone with a sophisticated, contemporary design sensibility who understands proportion, materiality,



typography, colour and composition and how all of these elements work together within a physical brand experience.

You’ll also have

- Minimum 3 years’ professional design experience
- Professional experience or qualifications in Interior Design and/or Graphic Design, with demonstrated capability across both
- Strong 3D rendering and visualisation skills — essential
- Advanced experience with SketchUp and CAD
- Advanced Adobe Creative Suite skills, including Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
- Strong graphic design capability across branding, typography, signage and visual communication
- Experience developing event layouts, environments and interior concepts
- Ability to take an idea from concept through to detailed, buildable design
- Understanding of materials, finishes, fabrication and production
- Strong presentation and design documentation skills
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management
- Ability to work across multiple projects in a fast-paced creative environment
- A collaborative, practical approach and confidence working with production teams, suppliers and fabricators
