- Northern Beaches
- Newly created facilities leadership role driving building, safety and site services
- Huge growth and chance potential
It's all about the company Our client is an Australian medical technology business that manufactures and processes regulated medical products, and is part of a much larger listed group. They're investing properly in their Operations function for the first time, with a new General Manager of Operations and a genuine focus on giving their production and warehouse teams the infrastructure to work without disruption. This is a newly created role, built as part of that investment.
It's a chance to shape how facilities and safety are run on site from the ground up, with real backing from leadership to do it properly.
It's all about the job
This is a facilities-first role. You'll report to the General Manager of Operations, with an Equipment & Facilities Officer and a General Maintenance role reporting to you, and you'll hold end to end accountability for the site's building and infrastructure, ensuring production and warehouse teams work without disruption.
The core of the job is facility and building maintenance. Structural, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and the critical environmental systems that keep manufacturing compliant, things like cleanroom HVAC, environmental monitoring and temperature controlled storage. You'll run the preventive maintenance schedule, manage capital works projects and coordinate the contractors and trades who keep the site running, and you'll have a hand in facility budgets and CapEx planning for site improvements.
Alongside that sits WHS. You'll be the site's WHS lead, owning the safety management system, risk assessments, SWMS and emergency procedures, chairing the site WHS Committee,
leading incident investigations and delivering safety training, inductions and toolbox talks across the site.
You'll also pick up general site services: security, cleaning, waste including clinical and biohazard waste, pest control, utilities and the supplier and service contracts that keep it all running.
This role sits deliberately close to facilities rather than equipment. The equipment side already has dedicated coverage elsewhere on site. What's missing, and what this role is really about, is someone who can own the building and the site end to end.
It's all about you
You're trade or tertiary qualified in facilities management, building or construction management, engineering or a related discipline. You've spent 4 or more years in a facilities, site or building management role, coordinating contractors and trades including procurement and contract management, and you can read a facility budget and contribute to CapEx planning.
WHS qualifications or certifications are highly regarded alongside your facilities background, and you're comfortable owning WHS as more than a compliance checkbox: risk assessments, incident management, inductions and audits, the lot.
Experience in a GMP, TGA or ISO regulated facility is a strong plus. If you haven't worked in one before, you'll need to be genuinely comfortable learning and working within strict compliance frameworks. You hold a current car licence, and you don't mind the occasional out of hours or weekend call when the site needs you.
The details
Full time, predominantly onsite on the Northern Beaches. Some out of hours and weekend work is part of the role. Apply now, or get in touch with Suzy Howard at MME Group for a confidential conversation.
