The Opportunity
We are seeking a passionate and empathetic Family Support & Inclusion Officer to join our Tarneit Sayers team on a 12-month maternity leave contract commencing in October.
This is an exciting opportunity to play an important role within the Centre Leadership Team, supporting children, families and educators while strengthening inclusive practices across the service.
You'll work collaboratively with educators and leadership to support children's individual needs, develop positive behaviour strategies, assist with inclusion funding applications and help create an environment where every child can thrive.
In this role, you will:
- Support families through orientation, enrolment and ongoing engagement
- Build strong, trusting relationships with children, families and educators
- Support inclusive practices across the centre
- Provide guidance around behaviour, wellbeing and inclusion needs
- Assist educators with behaviour guidance plans, strategies and implementation
- Facilitate respectful, solution-focused conversations with families and educators
- Support the development and implementation of strategies for children with additional needs
- Assist with inclusion funding applications and government support programs
- Connect families with relevant community services and support networks
- Work alongside educators to promote positive developmental outcomes
- Support enrolment processes and family communication
- Collaborate with the Centre Leadership Team to foster an inclusive and supportive culture across the service
Working Hours
- Permanent Part-Time – 12-month maternity leave cover
- 25 hours per week – 5 hours per day, Monday to Friday
- Flexibility to work additional hours, including 7.5-hour days, if preferred
- Additional hours may include a 2.5-hour break or ratio coverage, depending on centre requirements
- Flexibility to work across operating hours between 6:30am and 6:30pm

About You To succeed in this role, you will bring:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education & Care or higher
- Current First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma certifications
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Mandatory Reporting Training
- Strong understanding of child development and behaviour guidance
- Experience supporting inclusive practices and children with additional needs
- Experience developing or implementing behaviour guidance plans and strategies
- Understanding of inclusion funding applications and support pathways
- Knowledge of community supports and services
- Understanding of the National Quality Framework (NQF) and relevant legislation
