We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our team at Quality Hotel Robertson Gardens.

Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day management of our restaurant, bar, room service, conferences, weddings, and events operations. As the second-in-charge of the department, you will lead service teams, ensure exceptional guest experiences, drive operational excellence, and assist in the commercial success of the Food & Beverage division.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Service Delivery

n

- Lead daily Food & Beverage operations across the restaurant, bar, room service, and functions.
n
- Maintain exceptional service standards and guest satisfaction across all outlets.
n
- Act as the Food & Beverage Manager's representative in their absence.
n
- Coordinate service delivery between front and back of house teams.
n
- Resolve guest enquiries and complaints professionally and effectively.
n
- Monitor service quality and implement continuous improvements.
n

Functions & Events

- Assist in the planning and execution of conferences, weddings, private functions, and corporate events.
n




- Supervise event service to ensure seamless delivery and client satisfaction.
n
- Coordinate staffing, room setups, run sheets, and operational requirements for events.
n
- Build strong relationships with clients and guests to enhance the event experience.
n

Team Leadership

n

- Lead, motivate, and supervise Food & Beverage team members across all service areas.
n
- Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance development.
n
- Foster a positive, qualified, and collaborative team culture.
n
- Conduct shift briefings and provide ongoing coaching and support.
n

Financial & Administrative

n

n
- Support departmental revenue growth through upselling and promotional initiatives.
n
- Assist with rostering, labour management, and productivity targets.
n
- Monitor stock control, ordering, stocktakes, and inventory levels.
n
- Reconcile daily takings and ensure accurate POS and account charging procedures.
n
- Complete operational reports, shift handovers, and administrative tasks.
n

Compliance & Safety

n

- Ensure compliance with RSA requirements, food safety regulations, and workplace health and safety standards.
n
- Maintain all hotel and brand standards.
n
- Promote a safe working environment and ensure correct operational procedures are followed.
n

About You

n

n
- Previous experience in a Food & Beverage Supervisor, Duty Manager, or Assistant Manager position.
n
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
n
- Experience within restaurant, bar, conference, wedding, and event operations.
n
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
n
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
n
- Knowledge of stock control, labour management, and venue operations.
n
- Current RSA Certificate (essential).
n
- Approved Manager Licence or willingness to obtain one (highly regarded).
n
- Experience with hotel POS and property management systems is advantageous.
n
- Available to work a flexible roster across 7 days, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
