What Does a Typical Day Look Like?
- Prepare and review monthly management accounts and provide clear reporting on performance, trends, risks and opportunities
- Monitor the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow, maintain controls and ensure key reconciliations are completed and reviewed
- Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, cash-flow projections and scenario modelling
- Oversee billing and WIP, including aged WIP, recoverability, write-offs, pricing, productivity and utilisation
- Maintain oversight of debtors, payment arrangements, debt recovery escalation and short and medium-term cash requirements
- Oversee bookkeeping and delegated finance operations, including accounts payable, payment runs, reconciliations, disbursements, coding and approval controls
- Oversee payroll, employment costs and finance compliance activities, coordinating with People & Culture and relevant specialists
- Analyse profitability by client, team, Director and service line, identify margin opportunities and support sound pricing and investment decisions
- Partner with Projects and operational leaders on budgets, cost-benefit analysis, ROI, financial risk and post-implementation review
- Lead the Finance team through clear accountability, documented procedures, work review, coaching, quarterly check-ins and capability development
- Our business runs on EOS, so as a leader you will maintain the Finance Scorecard, Rocks and Issues and prepare meaningful financial analysis for EOS weekly meetings and quarterly and annual planning
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor of Business and CA/CPA qualification (or near completion).
- 3+ years’ experience in Australian public practice.
- Robust technical expertise in compliance and advisory services.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Leadership mindset with ability to mentor and elevate team members.
- Strategic thinker with attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
