Connect Resources is a specialist blue-collar civil construction labour hire company with a strong presence in WA, QLD & NSW. We partner with some of Australia’s leading construction companies, supplying skilled labour to major infrastructure and civil projects.

We're growing, and our finance function is growing with us. Based in our Perth head office and reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll work across the full national group.

This is a genuine development role. You'll be given real ownership from the start, with close support and mentoring from the Financial Controller. If you're technically capable and want to build a skillset that goes beyond month end work, this will stretch you in the right way.

Key Responsibilities:

- Month-end close across multiple entities — journals, reconciliations, accruals, and the reporting that follows.
- Weekly financial reporting — revenue, wages, margin by entity and branch, built from large datasets.
- Building and maintaining financial models — budgets, rolling forecasts, cashflow, scenario analysis for branches and business cases for new opportunities.
- Supporting the payroll function, including reconciliations, payroll tax, workers compensation and superannuation obligations across multiple states.
- Variance analysis and commentary that explains why the numbers moved, not just that they did.




- Helping us improve how we work — a good part of this role is assisting with the implementation of improved processes and monitoring of control measures in place.
- Liaising and assisting auditors with statutory audit requirements.

About you:

- CA or CPA qualified, or well progressed toward it. We'll support your remaining studies.
- Practice-trained candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Audit or business services experience gives you exactly the foundation this role needs — technical discipline, comfort working across multiple entities, and the habit of interrogating a number rather than accepting it. You won't need prior commercial experience; you'll need the appetite to build it.
- Strong Excel skills. Much of this role involves working with large data extracts, so you'll need to be comfortable with lookups, pivots and multi-tab models.
- An analytical eye. A valuable part of this role is noticing when something doesn't look right. Margins move for reasons, and we need someone who will deep dive to find the answer.
