Fitter Heavy Plant Equipment

- Perth Metro Role with lots of OT

- Dynamic role with lots of variation

About the Client: My client is an Australian-owned specialist foundation engineering and piling contractor with operations across Australia and New Zealand. They are known for providing specialist deep foundation solutions for infrastructure and building projects on difficult ground conditions. With a customer first approach and pride themselves on having technically capable staff, advanced foundation equipment, safe and cost-effective delivery, and a practical focus on selecting and installing the best foundation system for their clients on case-by-case basis.

About the Role:With a diverse range of heavy equipment, the Fitters at my client are an integral part of the operation. Currently, they are looking to add a Trade Qualified Fitter with the right personal attributes to their existing team in Maddington.

The role is ideal for someone looking for consistent hours (50+ a week) and day-to-day variation in what they are doing whilst still being able to go home every night. Due to the high service standards and short response times provided to customers, it is imperative that applicants be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities through the day. As part of the maintenance team, you will be responsible for upkeep and breakdown support for a wide range of mobile plant, including Cranes, Excavators and Specialised Piling Equipment to name a few.

We are aware applicants may not have experience with all the equipment on site. Successful candidates will however have an in-depth understanding of mechanical repair and maintenance of heavy machinery, as well as experience with hydraulics, fault finding and diagnostics. With plenty of support provided,

these transferable skills will ensure smooth development over time.

A typical day may include:

- Preventative maintenance, servicing, repairs
- Hydraulic, electrical and mechanical diagnostics
- Efficient breakdown support
- Machinery overhauls and modifications
- Repairing of pumps, cylinders and valves
- Accurate reporting and record keeping

Why Such a Good Opportunity:First and foremost, the successful applicant will be entering a positive workplace workplace where nobody is a number. The client has extremely long tenures and goes to great lengths to look after their people. Additionally, it is a rare opportunity to earn good money and secure guaranteed long hours in a Perth Metro role.

You will be provided

- High base rate with penalties on all OT
- Additional for any site work required
- Employer provided redundancy and income protection
- Take home vehicle – fully equipped with tools of the trade
- 26x RDO’s per year
- Standard 10 hour days
- Career development and progression – staff development is an ongoing area of focus
- Site currently being upgraded – will be state of the art in the next 12-18 months

Who are we looking for:A non-negotiable for my client is a good personality fit. Due to the demands of the job an easy-going nature,

ability to adapt to changing circumstances and positive communication style are key to the success of any candidate. Additionally, we are looking for someone who wants to build a long-term career in the local industry and takes ownership over the quality of their work.

Coupled with a general understanding of heavy equipment maintenance and hydraulics, a drive for learning and personal development will be well regarded as there is a lot of specialist equipment to be worked on. Whilst this is a local role, there will be the occasional need to attend remote sites for breakdown repair so going away at times will be a requirement of the role.

Further Requirements

- Trade qualified HD Fitter
- Demonstrated experience with heavy equipment
- Ability to fault find
- Strong knowledge of hydraulics
- Willingness to learn on the job
- Physically fit
- Looking to work extended hours – OT and Saturdays when required
- Laid back attitude to adapt with changing demands
- Positive personality and ability to communicate with colleagues and customers
- Any experience with CAT, Cummins, Duetz Volvo, Soilmec or Bauer machines will be highly regarded
- White Card, Forklift (LF), EWP, and Working at Heights required
- Dogging and Crane tickets advantageous but not essential for the right applicants
