About the role
Florence Kindergarten is seeking a Co-Director/Part time Teacher to join the team. This is a part time contract position which could become an ongoing position, working Thursday, Friday and alternate Wednesday, commencing January 2027. Florence Kindergarten is a well-established, not-for-profit community kindergarten affiliated with C&K; (The Creche & Kindergarten Association Ltd) with a strong reputation within the Margate community for providing high-quality early education and care.
Part Time Thursday, Friday and Alternative Wednesdays • Commencing January 2027 (Play dates and family interviews end of 2026)
- Remuneration aligned with Florence Kindergarten Enterprise Agreement
Qualifications
- An ACECQA approved Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or an equivalent Early Childhood Qualification
Current Registration with Queensland
College of Teachers.
Current Blue Card (Exemption Card)
Working with Children Check
Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma &
Anaphylaxis training
Completion of the national Child safety Training.
Current Mandatory Compliance Training (or willingness to complete) including:
Child Protection
Privacy
Workplace Health and Safety
Workplace Bullying
Sexual Harassment in the Workplace
Experience in a community kindergarten is highly valued
Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a co director /teacher who:
Has a passion for early childhood education and innovative, play based pedagogy.
Has a sound knowledge of the Early Years
Has a passion for early childhood education and innovative, play based pedagogy.
Has a sound knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG) and the National Quality Framework (NQF).
Has a strong understanding and commitment to the Early Childhood
Australia (ECA) code of ethics.
Demonstrates an understanding of child protection laws, and, child safe practices.
Can show a growth mindset with a dedication to ongoing professional learning and collaborative team engagement.
Demonstrates the ability to build respectful partnerships with families, children's and colleagues to support each child's wellbeing, learning, development and engagement in the program.
Has an understanding of child development and learning theories
