Freelance Consumer PR Account Manager / Account Director

We're on the hunt for an earned media gun to join the Havas Red Consumer & Brand team on a freelance basis for 2-3 months.

Ideally between AM and AD level, we're looking for someone who lives and breathes media relations, can hit the ground running, and is ready to jump into some awesome campaigns and great client work.

The ideal person is organised, proactive, and loves rolling up their sleeves to make things happen. Full-time availability is preferred. You'll thrive in a fast-paced environment, bring positive energy to the team, and enjoy being part of a fun, collaborative culture during a particularly busy and exciting period.

You'll need to have strong media relationships, great news sense, and know exactly how to land a story. Experience across consumer brands, lifestyle, travel and culture-led campaigns would be highly regarded. Influencer experience is also a plus.

What you'll be doing

- Driving day-to-day earned media activity across a range of clients
- Developing story angles, pitching media and securing coverage
- Building and leveraging solid journalist and influencer relationships
- Writing media materials including media releases, pitches and briefing documents
- Supporting campaign launches, activations and events




- helping lead and mentor a team, providing guidance and support to junior members
- Working closely with senior leaders and client teams to deliver standout results

What we're looking for

- AM to AD level experience within an agency environment
- A proven track record in media relations and securing earned coverage
- Strong Australian media contacts across consumer, lifestyle, travel and news
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Someone who is self-sufficient, adaptable and can get up to speed quickly
- Available immediately or within a short notice period, with capacity for a full-time freelance engagement
