Institut Polaire is an award-winning restaurant and wine bar situated near the waterfront in Hobart Tasmania. We are seeking talented front of house professionals to join our team.

We are hiring multiple positions with varying hours available depending on your skill set and experience.

Based around beautiful produce from ethical local growers, fishers and farmers, we offer a dining experience with high level table-service and an award-winning wine list. Australia’s best wine list (100 wines). We are also the cellar door for Domaine Simha Wine and Süd Polaire Spirits.

To be successful in the role you will have a passion for delivering a special experience to our guests, a welcoming and positive personality and enjoy engaging with people. You will be able to work as part of a small and caring team. We will help mentor and support you in developing your skills and career.





Required skills and experience:

- Previous restaurant experience in a similar hospitality role.
- Motivated to deliver exceptional customer service.
- Robust communication skills.
- Confident, quick and shows initiative.
- An interest in learning about the provenance of local food and wine.
- Upselling skills.
- Ability to work afternoons, evenings and weekends essential.
- Honest, reliable and able to work unsupervised.
- Knowledge of wine and spirit styles desired but not essential.

We are open from 4pm on Thursday through to Sunday. We have a number of positions available and can offer work ranging from 20 to 40 hours over 4 nights per week as well as 2-3 nights for those requiring more flexibility around study etc. To find out more about us visit: www.institutpolaire.com.au
