We are now looking for a GP to support our medication follow-up call clinic, providing ongoing care for adults across New South Wales who have commenced ADHD treatment.

About the Role

You will manage the ongoing care of adult patients who have completed their ADHD assessment and been initiated on medication by our consultant psychiatrists. Working from structured handover documentation and the psychiatrist's co-management plan,

you will:

- Conduct regular follow-up consultations by phone

You will work closely with our Lead Psychiatrist and operational team throughout.

Key Responsibilities

Patient care

- Run the follow-up call clinic with structured phone consultations for patients on ADHD medication pathways
- Manage titration in line with the psychiatrist's treatment plan, reviewing effectiveness, side effects, and tolerability
- Monitor patient stability, including physical health checks such as blood pressure and heart rate review
- Escalate non-response, complex cases, or significant adverse effects to the Lead Psychiatrist

Prescribing and documentation

- Apply for Individual Patient Approval via SafeScript NSW for patients under the co-management arrangement
- Check SafeScript NSW real-time prescription monitoring before each prescribing decision
- Obtain PBS authority approvals for ongoing Schedule 8 stimulant prescribing
- Process script renewals promptly so patients never experience avoidable gaps in treatment
- Maintain clear, concise, and clinically robust consultation notes

- Prepare thorough handover documentation for patients being discharged to their community GP

Service and governance

- Contribute to the development and refinement of follow-up and titration protocols
- Compliance with AHPRA, PBS, SafeScript NSW, and NSW Health Schedule 8 prescribing requirements
- Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing service development
- Support audit, quality assurance, and clinical governance processes

What We're Looking For

- Vocationally registered General Practitioner (FRACGP or equivalent) with current AHPRA registration
- Current professional indemnity insurance
- Excellent consultation, clinical reasoning, and documentation skills
- Confidence managing medication reviews and ongoing prescribing responsibilities
- Familiarity with digital health models and telehealth platforms
- Strong communication, empathy, and a patient-centred approach
- Highly organised, able to run an efficient clinic autonomously while contributing to a team

Desirable

- Experience prescribing Schedule 8 medicines and managing PBS authority requirements
- Experience in private practice or digital health settings
- Knowledge of broader neurodivergent and comorbid conditions such as autism, anxiety, and depression
- Interest in research, service development, or training
