Plant 4 Bowden is a unique Reception Center, hospitality and community destination in Adelaide, bringing together independent food and beverage operators, private functions, public events and community experiences within a vibrant multi-purpose venue. Located in the heart of Bowden, Plant 4 combines daily hospitality operations with a diverse range of events and customer experiences throughout the year. As our venue continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Venue Operations & Events Manager to coordinate key venue operations, events and customer experiences across Plant 4.

About the Role
n
Reporting to the Venue Manager and Senior Management, the Venue Operations & Events Manager plays a key role in coordinating daily venue operations, reservations, private functions and public events. Working closely with management, front-of-house, kitchen and bar teams, event organisers, customers, vendors, suppliers and contractors, you will ensure the venue operates efficiently and that events and daily services are delivered to a high standard. This is a hands-on operational leadership role suited to an organised and adaptable hospitality professional who is confident managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced venue environment.

Key Responsibilities
n
Venue Operations & Reservations
n
n
- Coordinate daily reception and front-of-house operations, including customer arrivals, venue flow and seating allocations.
n
- Manage reservations and booking systems, including large group bookings and special seating requirements.
n
- Coordinate daily operational priorities and allocate tasks to front-of-house staff.
n
- Monitor venue readiness, customer flow and operational standards during daily service and events.
n
- Respond to operational issues in real time and make appropriate decisions within delegated authority.
n
n
Events & Functions
n
n
- Coordinate private functions from planning through to event delivery.
n
- Liaise with clients, event organisers, vendors, suppliers and internal teams to ensure event requirements are communicated and delivered accurately.
n
- Coordinate venue layouts, operational floor plans and event logistics.
n
- Work closely with kitchen, bar and service teams to coordinate food and beverage service.
n
- Coordinate meal service requirements, including quantities, dietary requirements and distribution according to event plans.
n
- Resolve operational issues throughout event delivery.
n
- Supervise and support reception and front-of-house teams during daily operations and events.
n
- Coordinate staffing requirements and operational duties.
n
- Support staff onboarding, training and performance development.
n
- Maintain effective communication between departments during service and events.
n
- Maintain high customer service standards and respond professionally to customer enquiries, feedback and complaints.
n
- Build positive relationships with event clients, venue guests and key stakeholders.
n

Operational Coordination
n
n
- Monitor beverage stock levels and coordinate requirements for bar consumables,
cleaning supplies, glassware and operational equipment.
n
- Support the coordination of stock deliveries, supplier requirements and vendor participation during public events.
n
- Maintain accurate booking records and event documentation.
n
- Support the development and maintenance of reception and event procedures.
n
- Assist with workplace health and safety practices and report hazards or incidents as required.
n
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency, customer service and event delivery.
n

About You
n
The successful candidate will have:
n
n
- A minimum of one year of full time experience.
n
- Previous experience in hospitality management, venue operations, event coordination or a related operational role.
n
- Experience coordinating customer-facing operations in a fast-paced environment.
n
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
n
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate different teams and stakeholders.
n
- Strong problem-solving skills and confidence making operational decisions.
n
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to customer service.
n
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.
n
- Experience in a multi-purpose hospitality venue or event environment.
n
- Experience with reservation, booking or point-of-sale systems.
n
- Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA).
n
