About the role A newly created opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded finance leader to join a PE-backed consumer products and distribution business on Sydney's North Shore. Reporting directly to the Group CFO and partnering closely with the divisional Managing Director, this role takes ownership of the commercial finance agenda across both the customer-facing P&L; and the supply chain function that sits behind it.

This is a genuine partnering seat rather than a reporting one. The business has grown quickly, much of it through acquisition, and the finance function is being built out to match. The successful candidate will own margin, mix, pricing and cost-to-serve, with the mandate and the access to influence decisions before they are made rather than explain them afterwards.

The dual scope is what makes this role unusual. Very few positions at this level combine consumer commercial finance with genuine operational and supply chain economics, and the person who takes it will be as comfortable in a pricing conversation with Sales as they are in a working capital conversation with Operations.

Key responsibilities

- Owning pricing, margin performance and revenue growth management across the portfolio
- Building customer, channel and product profitability and cost-to-serve analysis
- Driving discipline around trade spend, promotional investment, rebates and ROI
- Leading commercial finance input to budgeting,



rolling forecasts and S&OP;
- Partnering supply chain on inventory, working capital, DC network economics and capex
- Building the business cases behind growth initiatives and major investment decisions
- Establishing the partnering toolkit, reporting rhythm and KPI framework from scratch
- Turning fragmented financial and operational data into decisions the business can act on

About you

We are looking for a finance leader comfortable operating as both trusted partner and constructive challenger, in a business that is still forming. You will ideally bring:

- Senior commercial finance or business partnering experience within FMCG, consumer products, retail, wholesale or distribution
- Demonstrated ownership of pricing, margin and revenue growth outcomes
- Exposure to supply chain or operational finance, including cost-to-serve, inventory and working capital
- Strong commercial modelling capability across profitability, scenarios and investment cases
- The ability to influence senior commercial executives without relying on direct authority
- Comfort operating without heavy corporate infrastructure, in an environment where systems and data are a work in progress
- A CA, CPA or equivalent skilled qualification
