We are partnering with a large and complex Queensland commercial company undertaking a significant finance, reporting and analytics transformation.

This newly created role offers an experienced FP&A; professional the opportunity to help modernise the organisation’s planning, forecasting, reporting and analytics capability. The position combines leadership (team of two and growing) with hands-on FP&A; delivery with reporting transformation. You will take an active role in preparing budgets and forecasts, developing financial models, improving management reporting and delivering meaningful insights to senior leaders.

Reporting to the CFO, you will work closely with Finance, Technology and operational stakeholders to improve budgeting, forecasting, reporting and commercial decision support across the organisation. This is not purely a strategy or transformation position. You will be expected to remain hands-on, working directly with financial models, budgets, forecasts, reporting outputs, dashboards and underlying data.

Your initial focus will be on strengthening the organisation’s FP&A; capability, improving reporting visibility, enhancing data quality and developing practical business intelligence solutions.

FP&A; and Commercial Finance

- Lead and remain actively involved in the preparation of annual budgets, rolling forecasts and long-range financial plans.
- Develop, maintain and improve detailed budgeting and forecasting models.
- Consolidate financial and operational inputs from across the organisation.
- Review assumptions, challenge inputs and ensure budgets and forecasts are accurate, complete and commercially realistic.
- Prepare scenario models, sensitivity analysis and decision-support tools.
- Analyse actual performance against budget and forecast, identifying key drivers, risks and opportunities.
- Deliver clear financial and operational insights to senior leadership.
- Partner with business leaders to improve financial performance and accountability.




- Develop KPI frameworks aligned with the organisation’s strategic objectives.
- Support the preparation of executive and board reporting.

Analytics and BI

- Design, build and enhance executive, financial and operational dashboards.
- Develop meaningful reporting and analytics solutions across the organisation.
- Improve reporting automation and reduce reliance on manual processes.
- Create scalable reporting frameworks and performance measurement tools.
- Improve data quality, reporting consistency and confidence in business information.
- Translate finance and operational requirements into practical reporting solutions.
- Identify opportunities to use analytics to improve performance and decision-making.
- Support stakeholders to understand and effectively use dashboards and reporting tools.

Finance Data and Reporting Workplace

- Represent Finance in discussions relating to the data warehouse and broader reporting environment.
- Partner with Technology and Data teams to improve reporting architecture, data accessibility and reporting outcomes.
- Define and document finance data requirements, business rules, calculations and reporting standards.
- Help ensure consistent definitions are used across finance and operational reporting.
- Identify and resolve data quality, integrity and reconciliation issues in partnership with the relevant teams.
- Provide finance input into the ongoing development of the Snowflake reporting and analytics environment.
- Support the creation of reliable, governed data sets for budgeting, forecasting, reporting and analysis.
- Help prepare finance data and reporting processes for future automation and AI-enabled initiatives.





Transformation and Future Capability

- Contribute to the organisation’s broader finance transformation roadmap.
- Identify opportunities to streamline budgeting, forecasting and reporting processes.
- Support future analytics, automation and AI-enabled reporting initiatives.
- Work with Technology and Data teams to improve reporting capability and access to trusted information.
- Help shape the future Analytics and BI strategy.
- Develop sustainable reporting frameworks, processes and documentation.
- Support the development of future analytics capability and team structures.
- Balance longer-term transformation priorities with the practical, hands-on delivery requirements of the finance function.

About You You combine strong commercial finance and FP&A; capability with practical experience in reporting and analytics. You are comfortable working directly in financial models and reporting tools while also engaging with senior stakeholders to understand business requirements and improve decision-making.

You will bring:

- 4 years + Leadership experience (building out a FP&A; team)
- Extensive hands-on FP&A; experience, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modelling and commercial analysis.
- Demonstrated experience preparing and maintaining detailed budgets and forecasts.
- Strong analytical capability, including variance analysis, scenario modelling and performance reporting.
- Advanced Power BI dashboard development experience.
- Experience operating within complex reporting and data environments.
- Strong business partnering and stakeholder management capability.
