Job Description

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Provide timely advice to project management regarding early and advanced warning of corrective action required to mitigate risks or capitalise on opportunities
n
- Where contracts are awarded, ensure a comprehensive handover of the Project to the Construction Team to ensure the Project Team are adequately briefed about the program fundamental principles and details set out in the tender program
n
- Review of the planning processes and procedures on a regular basis to ensure that they meet the business needs and future requirements
n
- Planning of multiple projects from project team to ensure final sign off
n
- Provide scheduling support and schedule analysis of various interfaces of the project
n
- Assist the Project Manager to review impacts, test scenarios & propose solutions to competing programme demands
n
- Ensuring compliance with the project's policies, objectives and statutory requirements i.e. Develop and maintain Project Controls Plan, Basis of Program
n
- Ensure project is designed and planned to maximise efficiency and minimise construction costs
n
- Coordinate, with the Senior Planner, the preparation of program input into project monthly reports (internal and external), including basis of program reports and EV and physical progress of the works
n
- Monitor resource availability and allocation across various disciplines of the project
n
- Responsible for clarifying the needs of the Construction and/or Tender Team to ensure the delivery of effective planning services for the business unit or major project.
n
- Assisting and co-ordinating with marketing material, existing collateral and/or presentations. Preparing and reviewing tender narratives and providing input to Client interactives.
n
- Coordinate and lead active participation in the continuous improvement of planning processes and technologies in conjunction with Company functional leadership and the Engineering Group
n

About You
n
n
- Tertiary qualifications in relevant discipline and/or extensive construction and building industry experience is preferred
n
- Demonstrated minimum 7 years project delivery experience in railway, infrastructure or building as a planner, planning manager, or Project Engineer roles or similar role
n
- In addition, experience in Tender, delivery and strategic planning
n
- Demonstrated leadership skills
n
- Able to lead and manage the collaborative development and management of complex programmes
n
- Excellent communicator at all levels of management including client facing
n
- Experience in project planning, cost control, document control and quality systems & processes on high value projects
n
- Contract & Commercial - Approach to Delay Analysis & Commercially aware.
n
- Able to build, manage and maintain large planning teams
n
- Able to establish and maintain many diverse relationships
n
- Strong systems focus and background in planning with experience in Primavera P6
n
- Ability to lead and manage the establishment of Last Planner plus performance measurement & reporting on current projects aligned to CMS and best practice including effective Dashboards & KPM's
n
- Preferably skilled in 4D planning and BIM, ability to input to and coordinate associated processes
n
- Proven competency and able to develop the skills of others in all of the following: Schedule Reliability Analysis, Last Planner, Critical Path Methodology, Design Planning, Earned Value Management, Schedule Risk Analysis, Forensic Planning
