We are seeking an experienced and collaborative educational leader to join our Senior School as Head of Learning Enhancement. This key leadership role is responsible for driving inclusive education practices, supporting staff and partnering with families to ensure students with diverse learning needs have every opportunity to thrive and achieve success.
THE OPPORTUNITY The Head of Learning Enhancement is a key educational leadership position responsible for leading and developing Somerset College's Learning Enhancement Department within the Senior School.
Working collaboratively with students, families, teachers and College leaders, the Head of Learning Enhancement oversees the strategic and operational delivery of inclusive education practices, student support programmes and learning interventions that enable every student to access the curriculum and achieve success.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Head of Learning Enhancement, you will lead the delivery of inclusive education practices across the Senior School, ensuring students with diverse learning needs are supported to achieve success. Working closely with staff, families and College leaders, you will drive strategic initiatives, oversee intervention programmes and foster a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Senior School Learning Enhancement Department.
- Oversee the implementation of learning support programmes, reasonable adjustments and assessment provisions for students with additional needs.
- Coordinate targeted intervention programmes and monitor student progress to support improved learning outcomes.
- Support and empower teachers through coaching, professional learning and guidance in contemporary inclusive education practices.
- Lead NCCD processes and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and reporting requirements.
- Monitor and analyse student data to identify needs, evaluate interventions and inform evidence-based decision making.
- Collaborate with students, families, teachers,
College leaders and external specialists to develop and implement effective support strategies.
- Oversee Individual Learning Plans and ensure student support information is accurately maintained and communicated.
- Support student transition, enrolment and engagement processes for learners requiring additional educational support.
- Manage departmental planning, resources and budgets while contributing to continuous improvement across the College

With a strong understanding of inclusive education and learning diversity, you bring a collaborative approach to supporting students, developing staff capability and partnering with families. You are equally comfortable leading strategic initiatives, analysing student data and working directly with teachers to create meaningful learning outcomes.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Experience in learning enhancement, inclusive education, special education or student support within a school environment.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary inclusive education practices, learning diversity and evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Demonstrated leadership capability, with the ability to mentor staff, build capability and foster a collaborative team culture.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, families, staff and external specialists.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and complex student support processes.
- Experience using student data and assessment information to inform planning, interventions and educational outcomes.
- A commitment to student wellbeing, inclusion and ensuring equitable access to learning opportunities.
- Relevant teaching qualifications, postgraduate qualifications appropriate to the role and current QCT registration.
