The responsibilities of our Healthcare Support Workers include daily delivery of person-centred care to the community of Helensburgh and Lomond. Our team support and facilitate cooperative goals and action plans with patients to improve independence and safety in their own home. This is a Fixed Term post until February 2027.

You Will Work Within The Reablement And Nursing Services

Reablement is a goal-focused intervention that involves defined therapeutic work over a 6–8 week period. It uses a strengths-based, person-centred approach which has been shown to lead to improvements in health and well-being.

Our Reablement

Service, together with the wider Health and Social Care Team, can support timely discharge from hospital and support individuals to remain living at home if, due to poor health or disability, they have increasing difficulty with daily life activities. Reablement promotes choice, autonomy and independence.

Enabling Palliative patients to remain at home is a core goal of the Team. Working with the District Nursing Team providing personal care and end of life care to patients and their families within their own home. Expanding knowledge of Nursing needs and skills required by patients in the Community setting.





Previous experience working in Health and Social Care settings would be beneficial but is not essential due to the training and support available. Attributes of a successful candidate include excellent communication skills, team working skills, adaptability, and effective time-management. Good IT skills are also required.

The organisation is committed to supporting your professional development and you will have access to appropriate training to enable you to provide optimum care. This includes the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland.

Access to a car and a full driving licence are essential. Please note these posts include weekend and evening working.

About You

Essential - The successful candidate will be a highly motivated and confident individual who has excellent interpersonal and communication skills as well as good self-awareness and the ability to work as part of a team. Conscientious, calm and be able to adapt to change or unpredictable circumstances. You should also have full UK driving licence and access to a car.
