HOTA, Home of the Arts Precinct

This role will be based at HOTA, Home of the Arts. HOTA is an iconic Gold Coast destination where art, entertainment, culture and lifestyle meet. A place that locals love and visitors must-see. HOTA offers a diverse suite of venues and facilities, including a gallery, outdoor stage, indoor theatres and cinemas, function and events rooms, as well as a range of food and beverage venues including the HOTA Café, the rooftop Exhibitionist Bar and three hat Palette Restaurant.

At the heart of HOTA’s identity is a rich and diverse program: live music, theatre, dance, comedy, film, visual art exhibitions, children’s shows, community workshops, and festivals – all taking place across the array of venues.

About the Role

The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for ensuring that all areas of the arts and culture precinct are impeccably clean, safe, and welcoming for visitors, staff, and performers. This includes maintaining cleanliness in exhibition spaces, theaters, backstage areas, office areas and public zones while respecting the unique requirements of an arts environment. The role requires discretion, attention to detail,



and adaptability in a energetic cultural setting.

The Housekeeping

Attendant position operates on a 7-day rotating roster to align with the operational needs of the business, including weekends and evenings.

Key Responsibilities

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Floor Care:

- Vacuuming floors, including the use of backpack vacuum cleaners.
- Mopping floors and scrubbing decks with scrubbing machines to maintain high standards of cleanliness.

Bathroom and Toilet Cleaning:

- Cleaning and sanitising toilets, sinks, and bathroom facilities, ensuring they are fully stocked with necessary supplies.

Glass and Surface Cleaning:

- Cleaning windows, mirrors, and glass surfaces for a polished, streak-free finish. Specialised

Cleaning Equipment:

- Operating a pressure cleaner to clean outdoor areas, stubborn surfaces, or high-traffic zones.
- Using cleaning chemicals safely and responsibly, following all manufacturer instructions and safety protocols.

Waste Management:

- Removing and disposing of rubbish efficiently and in line with organisational sustainability policies.

Dusting and Polishing:

- Dusting furniture, fixtures, and decorative items, including delicate or high-value pieces, ensuring no damage occurs.




- Polishing surfaces to maintain an inviting appearance in all spaces.

Event and Space Preparation:

- Assisting in setting up and resetting event spaces, ensuring cleanliness and readiness before, during, and after performances or exhibitions.

Safety and Maintenance Reporting:

- Reporting maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or hazards promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor and Housekeeping Manager.
