Our client, a well-established public sector organisation, is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join their People Services team. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly capable HR professional who enjoys working across both strategic and operational HR. You'll partner with leaders across diverse business areas, providing trusted advice and delivering workforce solutions that support organisational performance, employee engagement, and long-term capability building.
The organisation is looking for a confident HR practitioner who can balance big-picture workforce initiatives with hands-on HR support and enjoys being a trusted advisor to leaders at all levels.
About the Role
As the HR Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders to understand their operational and workforce challenges while delivering practical and strategic people solutions.
Key responsibilities include
- Providing strategic HR partnering and workforce solutions to leaders and stakeholders.
- Supporting organisational design activities, workforce planning and position creation.
- Developing and reviewing position descriptions and supporting role redesign initiatives.
- Managing employee relations matters including performance management, investigations, grievances and disciplinary processes.
- Providing industrial relations advice, including interpretation of Awards, Agreements and employment legislation.
- Coaching and advising leaders on effective people management and leadership practices.
- Supporting organisational change initiatives and workforce transitions.
- Leading and supporting recruitment and talent acquisition activities when required.
- Developing HR policies, procedures and people-focused initiatives aligned to organisational objectives.
- Analysing workforce data and trends to support evidence-based decision making.
- Delivering support across the full employee lifecycle from attraction and onboarding through to development, retention and separation.
About You To be successful in this role, you will be a well-rounded HR professional with the ability to work confidently at both strategic and operational levels.
You will demonstrate
- Previous experience in a Human Resources Business Partner, Senior HR Advisor or equivalent role.
- Strong Employee Relations and Industrial Relations capability.
- Experience managing complex workplace matters and investigations.
- Proven experience in organisational design, workforce planning and restructures.
- Experience developing and reviewing position descriptions.
- Sound knowledge of employment legislation, Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent written communication and documentation skills.
- Experience supporting leaders through change and workforce challenges.
- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to contribute across all facets of HR.
