Location: Guildford, WA, AU
Reporting into Health and Safety Manager, the Health and Safety Business Partner will join the team on a Full-time permanent basis at our South Guildford location. As a trusted business partner, you will work closely with leaders and frontline teams to provide expert health and safety advice, drive continuous improvement initiatives, and ensure compliance with legislative and organisational requirements.
You will play a critical role in developing capability, improving safety performance, and fostering a culture where safety is at the forefront of everything we do.
Roster: Monday to Friday, 8.5 Hours per day (including meal break)
What You’ll Do:
- Live our Values by leading through example every day through your actions, behaviours, and decisions.
- Deliver HSE initiatives and operational objectives across allocated business units by managing and mitigating risks, monitoring progress, and effectively engaging resources to achieve outcomes within agreed timeframes.
- Provide leadership, coaching, mentoring, and training to frontline leaders on effective risk management strategies to fulfil their legislative responsibilities and reduce risks to as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP).
- Ensure frontline leaders, contractors and team members understand key safety processes and report incidents and near misses accordingly within required timeframes
- Generate health and safety performance reporting both scheduled and ad hoc to monitor trends and facilitate improvements to overall HSE performance
- Lead incident investigations and utilise a range of HSE-related tools and methodologies to support stakeholders in identifying and implementing effective risk control measures.
- Lead proactive workplace assessments and support frontline leaders in identifying critical risks and developing effective control measures.
- Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, working collaboratively to achieve business outcomes within agreed timeframes.
Skills & Experience:
- Tertiary qualification in Occupational Health and Safety, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (desirable)
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a strong drive to influence positive safety culture outcomes.
- Advanced time management, planning and organisational skills
- Excellent communication (interpersonal, written and verbal) and public speaking skills
- Advanced computer literacy skills (MS Office Suite)
- ICAM (or equivalent methodology) Lead Investigator qualification with experience in root cause analysis.
- Working knowledge of relevant legislation and the ability to interpret and apply requirements within a workplace environment.
- Previous experience developing and facilitating training to a large and diverse group
